Bio

Drew Lilley is a thermal scientist and holds degrees in Physics and Mechanical Engineering from UPenn and is currently finishing his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at UC Berkeley with a focus on condensed phase refrigeration, advised by Ravi Prasher. He works in the thermal lab at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in the Energy and Distributed Resources Division within the Energy Technologies Area. His work focuses on material and system modeling for thermal energy storage and a novel all-condensed phase refrigeration cycle known as “ionocaloric cooling”, which is an alternative to vapor compression that is non-toxic, non-flammable, and zero-GWP.
